Mr. Gherardi received his J.D. degree from New York University, where he was John Ben Snow Scholar, Root-Tilden Scholar, and Executive Director of the Moot Court Board.

He subsequently served as counsel in the U.S. Senate and director of Congressional affairs for a Federal agency, and from 1972 to 1978 was Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. From 1978 to 1989, he was senior partner of Dean, Snowden & Gherardi and predecessor firms. Mr. Gherardi is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.
